Requirements
TRADEMARK REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
- Notarized Power of Attorney.
- Trademark denomination and label, if any.
- Full name and address of applicant.
- Goods or services to be claimed, or the corresponding class(es).
- For service marks, it is mandatory to specify the services to be protected.
- Priority can be claimed within six months.
- Separate applications must be filed for each class.
- Paraguay adopted the Niza Agreement international classification.
- Registrations may be renewed every ten years.
- Use is mandatory within five years of the granting date.
PATENT REGISTRATION REQUIREMENT
- Notarized Power of Attorney.
- Full name, address and nationality of applicant and of the inventor(s).
- Title, specifications, claims, abstract, and drawings (if any).
- Translation of specifications may be done by us.
- Priority can be claimed within one year (Paris Convention).
- No assignment is required even if applicant is not the inventor.
- Pharmaceutical and medicinal compositions can be patented.
- Validity is twenty years counted from the application date.

INDUSTRIAL MODEL OR DESIGN REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
- Power of Attorney notarized and legalized by the Consul of Paraguay.
- Full name, address, nationality and profession of applicant and author(s).
- Brief description and drawing(s) of the industrial model or design.
- Priority may be claimed within six months.
- Only ornamental features can be claimed, not technical features.
- One application may claim ten variations of same model or design.
- Validity of registration is five years.
- Each registration may be renewed two consecutive five-year terms.
DOMAIN NAME REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
- Notarized Power of Attorney.
- Domain name and extension to be registered.
- Full name, address, fax number and e-mail address of technical contact.
- IP address of primary server.
* Annuity for renewal must be paid each year.
